Re: workflow to save & use opposite hand version of part
This is one of those things where I use past experience as my guide. While solidworks does a great job of mirroring parts I have almost always have to make a change at some point to either the original or mirrored part. That makes me wish I had just spent the time to make the mirrored part from scr...

pre 2018 files properties are the same: the upgrade could and will break your data. this is why a radical change in 3D CAD was never a good thing (and software like ug managed to keep a very good compatibility back to the 70s data) . legacy data should be handled with extreme care: devs must not mo...

Are those files really so old? were they created with 2007? hppened to have a old template (RMB the front datum and look at the creation date under properties) Yes, they are older files. Possibly created with 2007 because they didn't update very often. But I think they were created with a newer ver...

Ok,
I have a previous co-worker that liked to add a scene to many of his drawings. They often make it hard for my old eyes to see the model correctly. Is there a setting to hide all document scenes? I have tried searching system settings and have not found anything to help.
Thank you
Jim

We give all of our parts, and materials a 6 digit number. We then have a macro that will assign the material number and description based on...
