Likely nothing ... This feels like a glitch. Most glitches that present as something displaying wrong or not displaying at all usually have something to do with graphics, not features. I've had it in mind for a while now that I wanted to research it today.
I use automatic mate during assembly, but most of the time the mate is reversed. I can't redirect mates completely randomly.

Have you tried surface loft? I would draw the beginning, middle, end, 3 lines and inner and outer path. I'm not at my PC so I can't try it.

There's only one problem, at least it's me.
It works in all formats but not in "easm" format.
It reports that it is saving, but there is no result (it does not save in easm format.)

Not a solution but just an idea. The save as command queries the existing same name and opens a window to save it to a different location if it exists.
