If you are actually confused, you can educate yourself. In engineering school I was taught to use both lbm and slugs for calculations involving mass. Both have official definitions that are based on the SI kg. It’s not that complicated. If you're just trying to be funny or pedantic, it's falling a ...

Mass vs. weight
Whenever I use the Solidworks mass properties tool, I become confused because it gives the 'mass' in pounds or kg (or other variations of g). Furthermore, the 'mass' originates in the material property's 'mass' density, which is given in kg/m^3 or lb/in^3. Pounds are usually a weight and kg is usual...

When you select the Replace Component feature, an open Part will show in the box, but you still need to click on it to select it. That seems counterintuitive. Re: why won't it cut in the direction I'm telling it to?
I agree with Matt, it's pretty hard to see what is going on from the image you posted. From what I can see, you've drawn a sketch on a sketch plane and told it to cut-extrude. That defines the direction; it will always be perpendicular to the sketch plane unless you give it a direction. The directio...

The issue with this part is that SW doesn't like something about the relations in your profile sketch. If you delete them, the sweep with guide curves completes without errors. The shape can not change on a sweep, it can rotate around the center and/or contort when using "keep normal constant" setting, but the shape never changes. To get it to jut out on the left side like your skecth shows you would most likely have to do a loft or a series of extrudes/cuts. I ...

Re: Can I ask for help with SolidWorks?
Any model that you can bring into Solidworks can be measured with very high precision. Curved parts may be difficult, but measurements can be taken.
Are you aware of the cost of a Solidworks license? I don't think you're going to want to pay $5k just to measure a part.

My template has axes in it. I also have a macro to add them to any part/assembly file. These are not sketch axis, but the 3 primary axis that can be used on any sketch/feature. Does SW control the default print settings that it uses or is it entirely controlled by Winders? The reason I ask it because every time I print, I find that scaling has been set to 100%, which is rarely what I need. My Winders defaults are set to Scaling: None.

I don't know if this will apply for your situation, but when I need a 3d sketch I often create a solid first, with the edges where I want the 3d sketch, then use Convert Entities on it for the sketch.
