I was going to add another one just called "Do my work for me", but that would have a PayPal button associated with it.

Friday was, unreal. Too real.
I was planning to quit for 3 weeks.
Boss was verbally abusive to everyone. Doesn't really bother me. I throw $hit back anyway.
For unknown reason, one day I just feel I had enough. That's not normal, since when I back out of a fight ?
But I had learn to trust my "gut feeling" so I started planning.
The yelling happened every week and another thing happened and put a time limit on it.

So I went and told HR on Friday. Told them I had enough with the boss. Of course they asked me to think about it.
Then told me their plan of "resolving" the problem. So they knew and I'm not the first.
Plan is to move "problem" to another position so it won't affect production.
A new hire will come in as "buffer" between "problem" and other employee.
At the mean time HR and another manager will be my "buffer".
I didn't think it'll work but said I'll think about it over the weekend.

Back to the office and I told other I plan to quit and why. They start talking about their "encounter".
Before noon, we're in a "13 Reasons Why" support group. One had filed harassments complain to HR already and ready to quit.
At this point there is no reason to stay, 13 Reasons to go.

You and your co-workers have started the ball rolling with HR. Good for you! About the only other thing you can do is to send out your boss' resume. Start with your competitors! That could be a double-win!

Considering dropping the info to Ministry of Labour.
Considering email HR and tell them they're hiding the problem, not fixing it. Everyone involved need professional help because there is an abuser in training also. He already know and avoid me LOL So he can be saved.

Frederic, I am sorry you went through this situation. You did two things correctly:
  • You went to HR to see if the company would resolve the issue.
  • When they did not resolve the issue, you took action and left.
There is no reason why a person should put themselves through a bad work environment. There are so many more important things in life than to go to a job that does not respect you.

That being said, it is too bad you are in Canada, we could use engineering staff where I work.

@Frederick_Law,
I agree with the others on here. You handled this properly and went through the proper channels...Their loss, and it's probably going to go down more quickly there unless they fix the problem.

Any chance you can come to the states? It seems you may have a couple of offers already to interview.
Or...with your SW advocacy maybe you're interested in a job with one of the SW VARs?...Or maybe those DS people can pay you for trolling on the platform full time?

Just got a choice -

Shop Production or one month Severance Pay, took the severance pay, today is my last day - no more SolidWorks - kinda sad in a way, but I'll be moving on.

Some of you guys got my number, stay in touch, otherwise, good chance it's no more SW Forum, been a long run, but SWYM is not the best or sharpest knife in the closet.

@Roasted By John, I believe that you saw changes coming and prepared. I'm glad that your (previously) side business has really taken off. We'll miss you, and that is okay. Keep doing what you love.

Be sure to drop in once in a while to say hello and let us know how you're doing, and you've got my number, so if you're ever in southeast Texas give me a call and I'll show you how we cook barbecue down here.

I may pop in once in a while, but doubt that it'll have any regularity, like now.

I'm planning to get back into sales, take a look at "Lifetime Waterless Cookware" - an opportunity came up for us in this area and I look forward to it. My wife had her set over 30 years and just this spring she upgraded and sold her old set for $850.00
