Assembly mates and Parts highlights

Unread post by Bryan O »

2 questions:

1) It seems like when I suppress a part the mates do not necessarily suppress with it.
Is there a switch that will allow SW to suppress all the mates of a part when I suppress the part?

2) When in assembly, I would like to see (highlight) the location of a part in the Asm/SUB Asm in the feature manager when I select it in the graphics area.
It currently only takes me to the top level of the Asm/Sub Asm.

Thanks Alex,

A coworker found this. Turning this switch on expands the subasm tree and highlights the component.

Still looking for a solution to suppress the mates with a component suppression.

Hey mate(see what I did there), check this out

There's a guy that says it's a bug that has to do with files from previous versions. Maybe you could check and see if all your files are in the current version using the performance evaluation tool.

1) Did you recently switch to SW 2022 SP2? If so, upgrade to SP3 at least. I have read that this is a specific bug with SP2 and legacy assemblies.

Edit: Aaaand I realized that just said all the exact things that @AlexLachance said. LOL

Great minds think alike and all that.
