I was in a Navy Band, and the Armed Forces School of Music. In Norfolk for 4 years. Played trombone. '85-'89.

Small world! I started out at the SOM on trombone in 83, retired 2004. Changed over to bass early on. Japan, San Francisco, New Orleans, Seattle, Italy and Newport RI.

My son plays baritone (ours) and his band teacher has him playing the Tuba as well (on a borrowed one from school). It was a thought.
