Why the hell?
Are there Covid researchers using Solidworks, or other Dassault products?
Why is there a Covid 19 forum on the 3DX?

They have a bunch of communities related to specific subjects. I know it's absurd from our perspective but we have to remember Dassault has a large portfolio of clients and some clients *could* use this.
I still haven't really understood why they decided to go in such a different direction. Most communities are empty/inactive. The purpose was most likely to sort things out more clearly but it did the entire opposite.

With that question you seem to have mistaken that bit of the platform as anything to do with SolidWorks. It even mentions Biovia in the topic description.

Dassault Systemes is a science-based company. We have brands like Medidata, which is the leader in medical clinical trials data collection and analytics- revenue around $650M+ USD. Then we have BIOVIA which transforms scientific innovation, helping organizations discover and create new materials and products. DS is not just CAD and PLM.
