Dumb user who got a 3D printer for Christmas

Hi all,

My wife took pity on me and got me a Bambu Labs P1S w/AMS for Christmas. I had been beating my head against the wall in a pathetic attempt to get my Wanhao Duplicator 6 to print. I think she got tired of the swearing if I'm honest...

Anywho, one of the things I had done was design a printable box.

I've set this up with equations to properly size the box according to the demand.

Problem is, this is a major PITA to change every time.

Is there a straightforward way of governing the overall dimensions of the box?

I've got some equations to control the details, I just want a simple way to change the inside dimensions and then hit recalc, and have it do it's thing.

Any bright, or not so bright ideas would be appreciated.

For something like this I would use a master skecth in the assembly and parts with equations to control everything. You change the height/width/depth in the assembly and everything else follows.

How about uploading a copy for us to look at? It's hard to say much of anything completely blind. But in general, if you start with a plain rectangular prism and build everything off that, it'll be easier.

We added 2 X1E's and 1 X1C in September for our student shop. excellent prints!

You could setup a Design table that all you do is change the dimension fields for the sizes you want to change instead of using an equation.

Edit: it can even make configurations so you can just double click and open older versions you created

Design table & configurations is what I would do. Especially if there are several sizes that get used often.

That's what I wound up doing. I inserted a part with a 3D sketch and I just change the dim's to suit. Equations drive the rest.

The challenge now is getting this to work through the various dimensions to see what breaks. I'm prolly overthinking this...
