Holy moly,
Gupta, I don't know if you are associated with these people, but what a cluster.
So, I registered for the course on linked-in. No mean feat there. Not everyone is a daily user of linkedin.
A week or so later I get a code from the dev via e-mail. No link in the e-mail to the course material. Had to come back here to get the link. Went through the gyration for registering with them, and "buying" the course. Then I got a link(ish) to a "api-training-lounge" on Slack, again for which I had to register. Still not anywhere closer to training materials.
Why in the world does this need to be so convoluted. If I had paid actual money, I'd be in the process of a credit card chargeback after this foo foo.
Geeze, make this easy for your customers.
It's almost like they are going through this just to collect e-mail addresses.....

I know the developer/author for a very long time, so I'm surprised that you have to go thru this. I feel your pain, so will surely make sure to report the issues you have to go thru. Sorry again for the trouble.
Here is the course link in case if this helps you or others https://bluebyte.biz/courses/mastering- ... -with-vba/

Everyone who has gotten the code were able to sign up for the course just OK. The sign up link is in the original LinkedIn post.
Our coupon codes work on our website a 100%. You were not charged. The course is accessible in the website under courses from the top. I cannot really say it any better way.
I was hoping you would reach out via the contact page. The language in your post is definitely NOT friendly for future users considering the course.
This is not ok man. Please consider editing your post in the future.
Re: SOLIDWORKS API Learning Course (100 % off)
You are right. I wasn't charged.
Still have no idea whatsoever where the course materials are.
I did reach out on LinkedIn.
Again, why is this so convoluted? My time is valuable and wasting it is not ok either.
Let's call this done.

@AmenJlili
Is it also possible to register for the course here via the forum?
I would like to take part in the course but don't have a Linkedin account.
If it is OK, I can advertise the course in the German CAD forum and also send an info to the German SWUG.

All the "good" news about SWX makes me feel like I'm driving a truck with two trailers straight into a dead end.
Re: SOLIDWORKS API Learning Course (100 % off)
Really? Come on dude. You are getting a $100 training course for free. How much time did you waste with this "convoluted" process? If you spent more than an hour, you won't have the chops to comprehend the course anyway. If less than an hour, that's a rate of more than $100 per hour. Is that what you pull as a retired dude puttering around on a Bambu 3D printer?
Also, to get any value from the course, you're going to be spending a heck of a lot more time learning than it took you to sign up. Are you going to get all impatient about that too? "Why are you wasting all my time with these training videos? Just make me know the stuff automatically!"
Sheesh.

I think you missed the point.
Doobes need to create 3 new accounts to start.
Lindlein, which probably not needed.
Bluebyte and Slack are required.
For someone not on internet a lots, that's a lot of work.
You didn't created this "problem". It just how the internet works now.
All these are just new to Doobes and you're blaming him.
Great work.
Re: SOLIDWORKS API Learning Course (100 % off)
I think YOU missed the point. Again, he is GIVING AWAY SOMETHING FOR FREE THAT NORMALLY COSTS $100 OF REAL MONEY!!! Over 10 hours of videos = HUNDREDS of hours to create. Part of the conditions for this FREE GIVEAWAY is that you do a little advertising for his services. Complaining about how difficult it is to obtain access to this valuable thing FOR FREE is just @$$#013ry.Frederick_Law wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 10:19 am Your respond is more "not ok".

Re: SOLIDWORKS API Learning Course (100 % off)
Hey Deepak, could I enroll, get the course and pass it in a few months? My schedule is kind of busy right now but I am extremely interested into dwelling back into programming and this would be an awesome opportunity.
Re: SOLIDWORKS API Learning Course (100 % off)
This is the page for the course... I can't imagine this somehow does not apply for the free access offer.

Yes, it is free.josh wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 10:37 am I think YOU missed the point. Again, he is GIVING AWAY SOMETHING FOR FREE THAT NORMALLY COSTS $100 OF REAL MONEY!!! Also free advertisement.
So make it easy for potential customers.
If user can't get to the free stuff, you think they'll try the paid one?

Re: SOLIDWORKS API Learning Course (100 % off)
I think both sides could pour a little water in their wine, it shouldn't convey such negativity. You're always free to continue on with your day and not stop at the stalls that offer their freebies in exchange for a few minutes of you listening to them. I like tending an ear and seeing what they have to offer and not just categorizing them as spam from the start.Frederick_Law wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 2:07 pm Yes, it is free.

I know I'm glad that I'll get to attend the course, so thank you to @AmenJlili for providing the service and rebate and @gupta9665 for promoting it. Hopefully I can use some of my past knowledge from HTML programming to get into the basics and start from there.
Re: SOLIDWORKS API Learning Course (100 % off)
I don't know if anyone cares, but I'd like to mention a bit of character reference for Amen Jlili. We've had no direct correspondence outside forum conversations, but I've only seen professional behavior from him. He has contributed so much to the public domain in regards to SW API content. Much of the SW API stuff I've done has his name and URLs in the comments, trying to give credit back to the posts and blogs he's provided. Frankly, that's the reason I'm taking time to post instead of passing by.
Maybe it is a hassle to get registered, I don't know, but I felt a bit bad reading some of the ranting. I'm not slow to jab corporate crap that we've seen using click bait, shady manipulative marketing, and layers of sign-ins to access what would normally be public domain. But to an entity that has shown good character through the years, as Blue Byte has, I would extend much more grace. It is incongruous that he would intentionally make things difficult for others to benefit himself, the opposite is more inline with experience.

Re: SOLIDWORKS API Learning Course (100 % off)
All,
Yea, I was a bit spun up. My apologies.
For comparison, someone was offering a free Python for Engineers course over on reddit.
The post included a course ID number, with a link to the course on Udemy.
It took me less than 60 seconds to have direct access to the course. Seriously.
After prolly 30 minutes of futzing around with the various gyrations necessary for this API course, I was no closer to seeing actual course materials. Why is the process so convoluted? What's the end goal?
For sanity, it might be best if this entire thread should be nuked.
