This is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite artists. Listening to the lyrics I can tell that he spent a considerable amount of time in Texas dance halls in his youth. (I know that because I did the same thing.)

Great stuff. When I hear a Guy song I wind up listening to his duets with Emmy (Black Diamond Strings, etc.) then wander into some John Prine.

I'm also a John Prine fan. I just learned a few days ago that he co-wrote the song David Allen Coe recorded "You Never Even Called Me by my Name" (unless Wikipedia lied to me).
Here's another Guy Clark song I stumbled across yesterday. I believe he might have been just a touch inebriated.
