For those of us who deploy SOLIDWORKS, PDM, etc via admin image, the inability to repair those images can be a hassle since you have to uninstall and reinstall. After dealing with this for many years, I just found out (via my VAR) that you can repair an admin image installation.
In the C:\Windows\Installer folder, search for *.msi and then in the 'Title' column (add the column if it isn't there) in Explorer, look for the SOLIDWORKS entry:
From a command prompt, run:
msiexec /f <msifile>
replacing <msifile> with the file name found in your search.
