Remove Dimension Breaks

Unread post by Uncle_Hairball »

I have a shell in one of my parts that is giving me grief today. It keeps complaining that I must 'Remove Dimension Breaks'. Do any of you know what this means?

I have seen this before. Even though the error isn't really helpful....my guess is that you have some errors in your surfaces, or you are trying to shell larger than your "Minimum radius of curvature"

Try this:

Before you shell, go to evaluate--> Check

Check the "Stringent Solid/surface check" and then make sure that "Minimum Radius of curvature" is checked.

If you get any surface errors, then they may be your culprit. You will probably need to fix those before you can move on.

Also, it will give you your minimum radius. Your Shell operation cannot be thicker than whatever radius is shown.

Its either that, you need a reboot. :D

You're probably right, Dan. I've been struggling with bad faces all morning.
