We need to categories here one for PDM standard and one for PDM professional. Even though they are compatible there are a lot of stuff that doesn't apply to PDM standard, Where as in PDM Professional the sky is the limit if you can afford it.
I set up PDM standard all on my own with because i didn't want to pay for extra installaion fees. It took longer but i got to know the system better.
Will never go back to a non PDM vault as it has save me from doing accidental deletes. you have to be an admin to do damage.

If it was still the old PDM/Works workgroup product I would tend to agree but PDM Standard and Pro are the same product, there are just features turned off. Questions about PDM Standard can be answered by Pro users.
Maybe we need a pin post with a link to the differences?

Yeah, if someone wants to write that up, I can sticky it to the top. Define the difference between the two levels, and who they are intended for.

@matt I thought we could create a table but that appears to require yet another extension.

Copied from the SolidWorks site. There may be other differences not listed. DB requirements for example.

Hmm...not seeing it. I tried logging out and back in. Is that a special moderator feature?

Here is a comparison chart that I created when PDM Standard first came out. There might be a few things out of date but I think you'll find it t be pretty close.
Hopefully this helps, let me know if you've got any comments as I will update and repost.

~Tom

This is a pretty good list. I don't know that much about Workgroup as I have not worked with that product.
A few changes and additions:
- PDM Standard now has a limited Convert task for converting drawing files to PDF. (2018)
- PDM Pro has archive and database replication - you list multi-site replication but DB replication was added in 2017.
- PDM Pro and Standard both support Toolbox and Revision table integration
- PDM Pro has Card Lists that can be used for populating dropdown controls on file data cards. These can be text, text with alias, or SQL query based.
- PDM Standard and Pro have administrator defined custom column sets added in 2021.

Diaval,
Thanks for the reminder of the added features, I've personally used all but the last one in your list "PDM Standard and Pro have administrator defined custom column sets added in 2021".
Not too many customers have upgraded to 2021 yet, that's usually starting in about the July - August range.
The convert task, "PDM Standard now has a limited Convert task for converting drawing files to PDF. (2018)" can only save files into the vault. You cannot save them to a network folder as you can with PDM Pro.
I will get the list updated and see about posting it back up here.
