Hi all,

This has been driving me mad for some time. I'm looking to make a mold (which I create using the mold tool) into something which will compress the mold as it is used. The below link is where I'm going with this, they describe it as a piston type movement to compress the carbon fibre.



So I can make the mold but adding the slightly angled 'piston' part is an absolute nightmare. I tried the interlock option but that's not quite it, and I feel like you might be able to do it manually but what a pain if you have a complicated shape to mold. I suppose some type of extrusion/cut at the same time could work?

Any help would be really appreciated with this, I'm self-taught unfortunately so it's very possible I'm missing something very obvious.

So for others who might visit this page, this is what I have so far. It appears this process has to be done manually, so I copy the sketch of the object, and the sketch of the outside of the female part of the mould.

Then paste both of these on a plane which is level with the mould parting line. Then extrude upwards and add a slight incline in the walls.

Merge and save the female part, and then go into assembly, and import the female and male part so that they overlap fully and the parting lines match up. Then edit part of the male part - feature - cut and use this to subtract the difference between the two pieces to create a mould.
