Hello all,
I am having an issue in 2022 that I have not had in previous versions, and I am looking for some assistance. When I save a flat pattern DXF the bend lines are not visible. I am using the same workflow as in previous versions but am not getting the same results and I cannot figure out the cause. in the first picture you can see that I have bend lines checked to export. They do not appear as they usually do in the clean up screen (second picture). Any thoughts as to a solution would be appreciated. 2022 SP5.

Hrmm. I am not having the same issue. They do show up for me.
I am not sure what is going on.

I played with a few settings, including hiding the bend line sketch that is under the flat pattern folder in the tree, but it still showed the bend lines in the DXF when I checked it.

Is the flattened configuration created?

Yes. I made the part using the same flow as I have done in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and have not seen this happen before.

Just tested on 2022sp5, a fairly complex FPC's (flex circuits), all bends show/export in DXF.

Thank you for looking. I have reached out to my VAR for support about this. Will have to see if they can figure it out. I attempted an install repair and that did not help.

Well, this is not cool. NOT COOL AT ALL.

I do not know if I can be much help to you as I have seen this issue for several years across multiple versions.
On 3 different computers, machines, on Windows 7, 8.1 & now 10..
For me, this issue has only ever been a problem on older versions installed parallel to later versions.
Have you recently installed 2023..?

I am actually currently suffering this issue myself, as we speak.
My installed 2014 & 2016 versions are both failing to show bendlines on output DXF FlatPattens.
It happened to 2014 when I installed 2016. 2016 suffered the same fate when I installed 2021.
But my latest version (2022) works fine.. So Far..

You stated later that a "Repair Install" was no help in resolving it... I can concur this my result too..
I never found a cure either.. And my VAR was next to useless.. Blamed everything from my templates to my hardware setup.
The only real "help" they could offer was to upgrade to the latest version.. (and accept it's new features/bugs.)

Only Full Complete Uninstall/Reinstall did the trick for me.. Everytime..

Please do let me know if your VAR is more useful.. I would really like to fix my older versions too if possible...

Thanks for letting me know that this has happened to you also and I am not alone. If I do receive a good solution from my VAR I will post it.

We had this problem in 2022 sp3 and bellow. At the time, we had to switch on both View Bend Lines & View Sketches to be able to send the bend lines to DXF.

But after SP3 this was solved (for us). You may want to test with two options while they are ON.

And make sure all steps are correct:

Exporting and Mapping Bend Line Directions

1. Click File > Save As.
2. For file type, select DXF
3. Click Options.
4. Under Custom Map SOLIDWORKS to DXF/DWG, select Enable.
5. Set other export options and click OK.
6. In the DXF/ DWG Output Property Manager, under Entities to Export, select Bend lines.
Select other options and click .

Thank you for your advise. This does work however this is not what I have had to do with previous versions and it does not appear that others have to do this with 2022. I suspect it has to do with my system or network.

I must have an equal system, and no network, because without these steps, my SolidWorks 2022 SP5.0 DXF files show no bend lines.

@ddemar5651 Does it just affect this one file or all? Are you the only one having the issue? Can you post the file?

The part file is attached. I am the only one currently using 2022 at all. We are a two person organization and I have only used 2022 for a few files. I had the same thing happen with another file made the same day with very similar Geometry. As I type this I realized that these may be the first parts I have done since installing SP5. I do not recall this happening on a couple previous parts done in 2022.
I made a part in 2020 and it would export the bend lines as expected. Opened the same file in 2022 and the bend lines did not export.

@ddemar5651 The only way I can get it to "not" show up in the export is to suppress (not hide) the bend line sketch in the tree. Else it always shows up if the box is checked.

I have the bend line in DXF too. 2022 SP5. I assume it's something on your side.

Thanks all. I figured it was on my end but do not know the cause. I may have to do a complete uninstall/install next week.

VAR solved my issue without having to do a clean uninstall and reinstall. Did a registry reset by renaming the "Solidworks 2022" Registry key and restarting Solidworks. It was a rather simple fix just took some time to coordinate time for a WebEx with my VAR Support staff.

For my 2022 SP5.0 instal, this worked for me too...
