Hello all,
Our company has PDM standard and not planning to move to PDM pro in near future due to some internal stuff. I have gotten a request from a user of one group to move an assembly with children to the vault area of a different group. Since I dont have access to move tree command, I am looking for a safe way to move the assembly and children withou breaking or confusing the references. Any information/thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Moving an assembly with children to a different part of the vault - PDM standard
These are both in the same PDM vault, right?
PDM standard keeps track of the references for you. The easiest way to do this is have an explorer window open to the folder with the assembly and another window open to the folder you want it to end up in. Just drag and drop. You are going to have to pick all the files you want to move. Anyone who has ever had that cached, will end up with local files in the original folder unless you have the setting "Automatically delete local read-only files that are not part of the file vault" set.
Here's a link that talks about that setting.
