@matt I saw on the Shapr3D you tube channel that you did a few tutorials. They were well done. What are your thoughts on Shapr3D as an everyday Primary CAD tool?

Someone other than my mother saw those? Interesting.

Anyway, for certain makers it can be a useful tool. More than that, I think elements of the interface might be influential on professional cad products.

I also think they made a big mistake adding history. Their schtick was simplicity. They did a great job of that with the interface, but history takes everything in the wrong direction. I'm guessing that they think they can't be taken seriously without history, but the interface was compelling enough to over ride that in my view.

Its a cool tool. Interesting guys. Interesting company. They've definitely got some great interface elements. Just a little too fixated on history. They have still some basic elements of the software to really materialize before it can be considered a full-featured pro CAD application, but for makers and amateurs right now, its a fantastic tool.
