Well if they can't get the TTL working (still zero ideas submitted!) then just using the ER community votes wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

They've just made a new "it's now live" post so I wonder if they've faffed around in the background and updated any access issues? https://r1132100503382-eu1-3dswym.3dexp ... -mmDmYuqMg

www.solidworks.com/top_ten is apparently the way in. Ideas can now be forwarded in from the ER community too which will help.

The first link took me to the login page, and after logging in it took me to the What's New page, with a message that "This content doesn't exist." The first one took me to a page that announced that the Top Ten List is now open, with a link that just took me back to the same page, or other pages that say the content doesn't exist. I don't see any way to actually see or make any ideas.

Broken links happen so I'm not too concerned with that if they can get it fixed in a timely manner. I think their bigger concern should be that this link was posted 3 weeks ago with little to no feedback from the community. Not sure if they know or care that the community that they had with the old forums is no longer engaged.

It seems obvious there is some sort of permission we/they are missing. The majority of us only get the "What's New" while others have some level of access. If the link works for people with the right access, it isn't a link problem.

I asked why it was posted on the platform a month later after being launched and was answered that it was posted on their blog a month ago. They forced everyone on the Platform to kill the Forum, but they didn't force their stupid blog on the Platform? Dassault at it's finest.

They look like they're throwing darts blind folded hoping to land a bullseye. Sometimes it feels like they don't even know how to operate the own thing they created and that they are too at the mercy of that awful design.

I'll give it a wild guess and say that every user that was transfered from the previous forum is experiencing these issues and every new user is not. Seems everything is linked to that but nobody on their end seems to adress it.

Probably because the platform requires an account to read anything whereas the blog is accessible to anyone.

I break that pattern I'm afraid, my account over there pre-dates the transfer.

How many of the strugglers engaged with last year's TTL? I'm wondering if permissions for that Community were carried over or something.

I will reiterate my opinion that the top ten list is nothing but a marketing exercise to create the illusion that they give a damn about your opinion. Does anything else this company does make you think they give a damn about the people sending them money? David makes some very reasonable suggestions. But the whole point is user involvement, not getting your ideas. Forcing you to enter the same ideas every year, to duplicate entries already in the system (that had to be duplicated because they decided to ignore the SR/ER/SPR system that had been in place for decades.) If participating makes you feel better, have at it. All you are doing is generating clicks for their platform, which is a win in their book. If they cared, would they have the TTL open for a month before posting about it? If they cared, would the TTL be such a disaster that most people can't even access it?

I know, I know, some of you have actually had your suggestions implemented. My thoughts:
1. That was back when the company really did want input from their users.
2. Your company has enough seats that your VAR actually cares that your opinion is heard
3. They were going to make that change whether it was on the TTL or not.

Ah, the perpetual TTL list. Also known as the Enhancement Requests community. Which would be too complicated to just use as the TTL.

When it was on the old forum the TTL was VERY easy to access and VERY popular. Since moving to the 3DSWAMP it is not worth the trouble! Early on I think the TTL was actually listened to, but now that the software has matured there isn't as much low-hanging fruit and your third point is most likely what is happening.

Actually, the whole ONE and TWO movement was the last time the TTL had an impact that wasn't already in the works, IMHO. By itself it forced a change on how the TTL even counted an idea. They were so embarrassed by ONE and TWO from the 2017 TTL that they wouldn't let those kinds of Top Ten ideas even make it on the list.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about:

If I recall correctly #2 had almost twice as many votes as #3! It was a very loud wake-up call we were making. Alas, some of those people that heard that call are no longer there or have been cowed by DSS.

The endless spiraling of the Platform towards a dump sent the topic down into the anals. It stayed visible for less then a day and the only people who seemed to get any sort of "notification" of activity on it were people part of my "network" on the platform.

OMG don't do the down vote.
That's gives even greater power to the 'block voters' that come in. They obviously will all down vote ideas which might stop theirs getting in the top ten.
You know you will get a receptionist down voting something!

In the last few years there was some Turkish VAR employees up voting a bunch of MBD stuff and other outlier stuff few use. IMO, MDB will not gain traction as long as they keep charging for it. MBD was meant to replace drawings however drawing functions are free and MBD is not.

mbd is a possibility (a luxury imho) for certain industries. for machinery builders and steel workers doing weldings a piece of paper or a 2d drawing is the quickest way to convey the needed information.

mbd license capabilities are interesting, not the money they want us to pay for a software that already causes our engineering costs to skyrocket.

I am accessing this site and the 3dexperience from my Android smartphone and while this forum is usable and I get minor annoyance due to the touch keyboard mainly, the platform my company pays a lot of money for is a utter pain, even with the official android app... I tried to post an enhancement idea for the top 10 ideas and I gave up after scrolling pages of explainations about supported browsers and their setup for something that should be accessible with a simple template form. it is utterly overcomplex to post there.

I even got access, as admin, to a support page which I have no idea what it is for, as it still lists some of our company employees that were involved (no more now) with solidworks... with old email addresses etc in their "profile"
funny thing us that some members have their data written in english, some in japanese, but you must switch the language to edit their profiles as mixing input in both languages is not allowed.

the page is "dsx.customer care and order"

I even got a email notice (automatic??) fom a person I do not know (probably a ds employee?) that my solidworks admin account was disable then re-enabled again??
same for two colleagues I added to our admin list a long time ago.
The chaos reigns on that platform.

Indeed. If you want a previously sent idea to have a chance to be featured in the top 10, you need to create a new idea in the top10 and link the previously posted idea. Brilliant concept.

I'm amazed these have both been pushed forward in to "Gathering Support" rather than being binned off as "not being to do with software features". I'll be further amazed if they don't get binned off by the time of voting.

They're currently #1 and #2. Let's keep it up UU They might be a little more careful at throwing them in the bin because I submitted them.
