Specify direction angular dimension

Unread post by Petertha »

Is there a way to toggle the angular dimension reverse to the default using the same vertical zero reference? (166 would be 194 & 124 would be 236 degrees). SW-2024-SP3.1

I don't think there's a way to change it after creation. Delete and create again.

Just to clarify, I did delete the example shown & tried to select the angle reference lines in the opposite direction thinking that might do the trick, but it always defaults to this counter-clockwise orientation. The reason I would prefer this optionality is my rotary table increments in the opposite direction so I have to manually go (360-angle) for shop drawings. If there is no remedy I'm missing, maybe I'll push it to my VAR.

It appears that SW is always going to default to the smallest angle for the first item selected. Try creating the first dimension off of the object in the lower right to force the angle dimension to a clockwise direction. It can be deleted later.

What am I missing? I sketched these two lines, hit "Smart Dimension", selected both and added this dim. Is this not what you're looking for? You can change which angle it does by moving your mouse around before clicking to place the dim.

Never mind... I see now you're using a baseline angular.

An initial dummy reference line with smaller angle did the trick. Thanks!
