SW2016 and Windows 11

For reasons of compatibility with a client we use Solidworks 2016 on Windows 11, all works except......

After initial installation Windows Explorer integration is fine, Solidworks files have the correct icons and the right click pack and go menu works.

However on running Solidworks the Explorer Integrations are removed, file icons revert to blank and pack and go menu disappears - very odd.

Anyone seen this before and know a fix ?

have you tried to launch sw as administrator and from system options -> restore file associations button?

2016 System Options / File Explorer / Restore File Associations doesn't work in Windows 11 however you pointed me in the right direction.

Go to - Control Panel / Default Programs / Choose defaults by file type - and associate .sldasm, .slddrw & .sldprt with Solidworks Launcher and all now works fine.
