Does SolidWorks offer note "styles"?
Does SolidWorks offer note "styles"?
Say I want to define different font styles and select one before I create a new note on an .SLDDRW, similar to the "style" command in AutoCAD.
Is this possible in SolidWorks?
Thanks.

I think style favorites will do what you want.

That's what I was looking for thanks.
Is there a way to make a style available across multiple .slddrw files? I noticed that "Styles" is not in the File Locations list.

You can save them externally and import them as annotations I believe, that is what we do.

Would I have to do that every time I open an .SLDDRW? Thanks.AlexLachance wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 3:59 pm You can save them externally and import them as annotations I believe, that is what we do.

Re: Does SolidWorks offer note "styles"?
If it's been inserted once in it, it remains as a "favorite", if it's never been inserted, it needs to be inserted to fall in the favorite category. Maybe you could insert it into your template and it would be part of the favorites of the template? Not sure on that.

This might not be what your looking for but I used to have the common notes and blocks in my templates.
I now store many things in our design library: notes, blocks, common features (Library Feature Parts). I even store some starter assemblies in there, much like templates.
Notes you can set up to display in the font/style you want, once, and then drag and drop it in.

This is pretty much how we have it set up also. Drag what you need when you need it.Bryan O wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 11:13 am This might not be what your looking for but I used to have the common notes and blocks in my templates.

I've been using Note Styles (and Dimension Styles) for many years. If you will set them up and save as Drawing Template, then they will be available in any drawings using that template moving forward. I have different Styles saved for different templates, which works well for me.
